This is our world too

This book we were assigned to read is during our CBL class because of the teen activism stuff we were learning about and the one girl I read about was Norvelle smith and she lived in the south side of Chicago. She went to john hope middle school and she got pure pressured to be into a gang but she was brave and rejected them. Then her school held a writing contest and she wanted to be apart of it she decided to write a poem about gangs and how they are brain washing they little brother and sisters in our neighborhoods that gangs are good. You have to read the book to find out if her poem was successful or if it went bad. The reason that I picked norvelle smith is because her story was inspirational and because she was really brave to stand up infort of a lot of people. I've recalled  many of people who were scared for presentations because of the croud.

I thought that this book was a really good one because it gives you a variety of options to read and it explains how life was and they show there life experiences. One of the reasons that I had to read this book is because it was in CBLwhich stands for Challenge based learning. My teacher made us read one of the teen activists I found this really cool because these are teens that had a problem and they wanted to change it. I really enjoyed reading this book and I think you would too even if you don't like any topics that are in this book.You could find one and just start reading it and before you know it you're interested!.

Regrets

Some of the things that I regret is not making friends with everyone because I had my clique but mostly everyone else did too. But that's one thing I regret because everyone that I had out with is really cool I just feel like I could of been friends with more people or maybe not. I like the friends I have now there a good group of kids to hang out with because they have my back no matter what. They are my riders because if one of us is in trouble or having problems the other one is always right there. We would never leave each other hanging. At least I know that mostly my whole group will be going to Morton west highschool. Which is cool I'm just hoping that we don't split up during highschool because that would really suck.  I know that I have retold my story to my family before. I've  found the group I'm with and I hope that I stay with them through out highschool .

The wonderful 8 last weeks

This last couple weeks I want to make it count because we only have a couple weeks left and we all should make a change for the better for heritage. We have graduation coming up and only a short time of school left I know I want to go out with a bang!. This 8th grade class will be one that I will retell for many years to come. The last 3 years we have spent at heritage getting to know each other and now we're going to be sent out into high school and most of us are splitting up and going to different ways and to different high schools. Heritage class of 2017 will be the best class of heritage. We only have 4 weeks of school left but we do have some fun  days coming up like 6 flags which I'm stoked about because it's gonna be fun. And the dinner dance is also coming up which means everyone is going to look really nice. It's going to be a memory for the class of 2017.

I feel that women rights are not being Acknowledged and much as they should be because we are all human beings and we all deserve the same rights. Us women deserve to be able to play the same sport without being told no. We fought for being able to vote and we were able to get it. I think that we are able to fight for what we want at least I know that I want to play football or baseball because they are really fun sports I want to play the same way the men and boys play. We should not get told no or that we would get hurt because I don't think that is the case. Even if we do get hurt it's a risk that I'm willing to take because I wouldn't do anything to hurt myself on purpose. Girls should be able to do or play whatever we want without people trying to stop us. Anything a guy could do a girl could do.

I feel like women don't get treated the same and it's  been the same for a long time in history .
History is repeating itself with women with the rights and sports because it wasn't right for them to be less them the regular human we are all humans also with the payments that the girls get compared to men they get paid way more by doing the same job. I've comprehend that girls should get the same rights as boys .The time in my life when I felt most powerful is when I stood up for what was right and didn't let anyone change my mind about what I felt . So I took at stand and never looked back because I known what I was doing was right I stood up for my little sister when people were saying mean things about her and I felt I had to sick up for her there was not other option.

Life is beautiful

In the movie life is beautiful there is some connections to the readings we have done like how the Germans came and took all the Jews and the people who were against Hitler. Some of the connections that they have made in the movie to our readings is when the nazis took over all of the Jews business. Also how they had the camps in our readings and in the movie life is beautiful and another thing is how the nazis wrote on the Jews property they wrote hateful things on there businesses and animals. But also they published things in the news papers about the Jews hopping that they would just leave one more connection that was in the movie and in the readings were that Hitler hated anyone without Blonde hair or blue eyes he wanted the nation all the same. If you didn't meet his standard you were a half breed and were not good enough. That's how many people got placed in the concentration camps.

In the movie life is beautiful the father and the son were taken to the concentration camp because they were Jewish and the father could not tell his 6 year old son what was going to happen to them so he made up a game and told his son that they were very lucky to be there. It was his sons birthday when they got taken so he had to make it seem happy for him. His moods were happy compared to every other person who was also in the camps. Once one of the Germans came in to talk to all of the prisoners in the camp the german couldn't speak Hebrew . So the father said he could translate but he didn't know German was saying so he was making everyone laugh because he was explaining the game to everyone instead of what the german was saying. Once that happened then the son really believed what the father was saying is true the father was grave for doing that because he could of died. Even though they had the father working like a slave he never gave up on his story that he was going to win the game and the tank that his son wanted. The father tried to persevered through the fact that he could die at anytime and the fact that he was in the camps.


Life is beautiful is shown as a life of a simple family who gets turned for the worse when the nazis stop by the store that the father owns. Later on the next day the father and the son get put on the train and the mother sees them so she has the nazis stop the train so that she can get on too. So there whole family was on there way to the concentration camp  the son was with the father and the mother was separated from them but they still managed to talk to each other. One day the father went to the speaker were they would say the announcements so he said if she was there that he loves her and he wants her to know that him and there son was safe. Then another day he played the song that they got married to through the speakers. So she known that they were safe another thing was when the father had to hide his son Joshua because the nazis had all of the children separated. He had to make sure that they couldn't see him then one day they were caught so the son had to go with the nazi children his father told him not to talk to anyone or they will lose the game. One of the fathers friends recognized him so he got his a job as a servant so he was giving everyone food and serving them they were trying to talk but the nazis were starting to catch on. The father was still able to see Joshua while he was working, At the end the father died and the son gets his tank with the mom.
